I am an Air Force veteran coming off of active duty and would like to start my own business…
This is my site Written by admin on January 6, 2010 – 2:44 pm

Maybe part time maybe full time? Something to cut my teeth on, something lucrutive? Don’t have a whole lot of startup cash, however could cash in some retirement funds? is that smart? Veteran assistance is probably out there? just need some good advice to get started, want to make enough money to pay the bills and give my family the things they deserve…

Hi Joe,

What was your area of interest in the Air Force? As both the daughter and former wife of fighter pilots, I enjoy some familiarity with military life and appreciate the difference between an expert in logistics and personnel.

Obviously, you should lead with your trump card – your experience in the military should be used to its full advantage (unless you hated it). Where are you contemplating retirement? If it’s Texas, please feel free to contact me. Also, I encourage you to visit my blog: http://www.AustinBusinessesForSaleBlog.com for free advice about how to buy or sell a business.

Good Luck!

  1. Hi Joe,

I am an electrical engineer working in electric industry for over 20 years. I was recently laid off two years ago as a project manager by multi-national company down in Houston and started a new job as an electrical engineer in Waco. I’ve realized that working for a corporation has no loyalty to it’s employees. I have recently started a part-time online marketing company and with over 3 million products and have hundreds of partner affiliates such as Best Buy, Sears, Office Depot and Microsoft’s Shop.com as well as exclusive products from an American Company, 50 years old, debt-free private company which grew from $7.1 to $8.2 billion last year.

It has the potential for part-time time income 2-3 nights/week from $60-$80k/yr after one year. It has low startup cost and low overhead. We have several business partners with military background who have been successful in the business.

I don’t know if you and I would be the right fit but could discuss the possibility of working on the same team where you would have your own online store. If you are interested, send me an email and setup an evening when I can show you the business plan.
